This Privacy Policy explains how 1Plabs Cyber Desk accesses, uses, transmits, and stores information.

1. Summary

1Plabs Cyber Desk does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or cloud synchronization.

Most information displayed by the app, including CPU, RAM, GPU, network activity, time, and system status, is processed locally on your Windows device.

If you enable weather information and grant Windows location permission, the app uses your device coordinates to obtain weather information and a readable location name from third-party services.

2. Information the App Accesses

Device location

When weather information is enabled, the app requests access to the Windows location service.

Depending on your Windows location settings and available location sources, the coordinates supplied by Windows may be approximate or precise. The app uses these coordinates only to:

  • request current temperature, humidity, and weather conditions; and

  • determine a readable city or district name when Windows does not provide one.

    The app does not permanently store your coordinates. A resolved location name and coordinates may be temporarily cached in memory while the app is running to reduce repeated requests. This temporary cache is cleared when the app closes.

System performance information

The app reads current CPU, RAM, GPU, network throughput, and network connectivity information using Windows and .NET system interfaces.

This information is:

  • processed locally;
  • displayed only in the widget;
  • not associated with an account;
  • not sent to 1Plabs; and
  • not stored as a usage history.

Settings and custom background images

Your preferences are stored locally on your device. These may include:

  • language;

  • vertical or horizontal layout;

  • widget size;

  • refresh interval;

  • visible sections;

  • always-on-top and startup preferences;

  • window positions; and

  • background image brightness and position.

    If you choose a custom background image, the app copies that image into its local application data folder so it remains available to the widget. The image is not uploaded by 1Plabs.

Local diagnostic logs

If the app encounters a startup error, it may create a local diagnostic file containing the date, time, technical exception details, and possibly local file paths or system information included by Windows or .NET.

Diagnostic logs are stored only on your device and are not automatically transmitted to 1Plabs. A log may be overwritten by a later startup error. You may delete it from the app's local data folder.

3. Information Transmitted to Third Parties

When weather information is enabled, the app may make HTTPS requests to:

Open-Meteo

The app sends device coordinates to Open-Meteo to request current weather conditions. Open-Meteo may also receive standard network request information, such as your IP address, request time, and technical request headers.

OpenStreetMap Nominatim

If Windows does not provide a readable location name, the app sends device coordinates and the selected interface language to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service for reverse geocoding. The service may also receive standard network request information, such as your IP address, request time, and technical request headers.

4. How Information Is Used

The app uses accessed information only to:

  • display the widget and its selected sections;

  • provide local weather and location information;

  • display current system and network activity;

  • remember your settings and window positions;

  • load your selected background image; and

  • diagnose startup failures locally.

    1Plabs does not sell personal information and does not use the app to create advertising profiles.

5. Storage and Retention

  • Device coordinates are not permanently stored by the app.

  • Temporary location data cached in memory is cleared when the app closes.

  • System performance values are not retained as history.

  • Preferences remain in the local application data folder until changed, deleted, or removed with the app.

  • A copied custom background remains locally until you clear it, delete the app data, or uninstall the app.

  • Local startup logs remain until overwritten, manually deleted, or removed with the app data.

    Third-party weather and geocoding services may retain request information according to their own policies.

6. Your Choices and Controls

You can:

  • deny or revoke location access in Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Location;

  • turn off the Weather section in Widget Settings;

  • clear a custom background image from Widget Settings;

  • change or reset app preferences;

  • delete the app's local data; or

  • uninstall the app.

    If location access is denied, weather and automatic location-name features will not function, but the system-monitoring and clock features can continue to operate.

7. Security

Network requests for weather and reverse geocoding use HTTPS. Local settings and images are stored in the Windows local application data area associated with your user account.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. 1Plabs applies reasonable measures appropriate to the limited data processed by the app.

8. Children's Privacy

The app is a general-purpose desktop utility and is not designed to collect information from children. It does not provide accounts, social features, advertising, or user-generated content.

9. International Data Processing

Third-party weather and geocoding providers may process network requests in countries or regions outside your place of residence. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the app's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when material updates are made.
